The Walker Art Center is seeking part-time Seasonal Visitor Service Associates to share our story, greet and serve our guests in ways that help ensure extraordinary experiences and repeat visits. The Walker places the highest priority on establishing a warm and welcoming environment to all of our visitors.


  • Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors; proactively and warmly welcome guests, respond to questions, and provide guidance to museum visitors.
  • Seat patrons, scan tickets, distribute programs, and perform light theater cleaning between screenings.
  • Assist in crowd monitoring for safety concerns and emergency situations.
  • Respond to general inquiries and feedback from guests and members on site; resolve customer concerns in a polite and professional manner.
  • Learn and provide thorough knowledge of general event and facility information for visitors.


Part-time (15-20 hours/week) with flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required – both Saturday and Sunday; $12.25 per hour, non-exempt; seasonal role from 11/14/19 – 2/2/20; Walker membership, museum discounts, and the opportunity to work alongside talented individuals and support remarkable artists, events and programming. This role is hired through Common Sense Building Services for the Walker Art Center.


  • Honest, hardworking, genuine, outgoing, and amiable – a can-do attitude and positive demeanor.
  • Experience in customer service, tourism and box office procedures desirable.
  • Ability to problem-solve in a quick and resourceful manner; can handle a variety of operations simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of personalities and people across a variety of cultures, generations, and abilities.
  • A clean, professional appearance with special attention to attire is required.
