The Walker Art Center is seeking part-time Seasonal Sales Associates to greet visitors, share our story, and help ensure extraordinary experiences and repeat visits. The Walker places the highest priority on establishing a warm and welcoming environment to all of our visitors.
Excellent customer service skills: greet, recommend merchandise, sell admissions, assess needs, listen/respond to, and close sales in a proficient and warm manner. Actively engage all customers and incoming calls – provide information and directions/navigation, as needed.
Restock and straighten stores, as necessary/when merchandise sells; straighten tables and shelves/keep displays and merchandise up to exceptional showroom standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Retail sales experience required; excellent customer service skills and cash register/cash handling experience are essential; courteous, efficient, and professional manner, while maintaining an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
A strong appreciation or education within art, design, and/or product design; knowledge of contemporary design and products with an appreciation of contemporary art; interest in jewelry, books, and home products preferred.
A clean, professional appearance with special attention to attire is required.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6+ hour shifts) and lift/push/pull up to 25lbs.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
Part-time (10-20 hours/week) with flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required; $12.25 per hour, non-exempt; Walker membership, museum discounts, and the opportunity to work alongside talented individuals and support remarkable artists, events and programming. This role is hired through Common Sense Building Services for the Walker Art Center.
