Temporary Mini Golf Associate

The Walker Art Center is seeking a temporary, part-time Mini Golf Associate to join their Public Engagement, Learning, and Impact team, with a primary focus on ensuring smooth operations for mini golf activities on the terraces. Key responsibilities include facilitating the distribution of clubs, balls, and scorecards, checking tickets for entry, and guiding guests through the mini golf experience. The Associate will provide excellent customer service by proactively welcoming guests, answering questions, resolving complaints, and maintaining a positive atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and membership conversion.
This temporary position will run from May 21, 2025, to October 5, 2025.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Facilitate distribution of clubs, balls and scorecards to guests and ensure smooth transitions throughout the day of mini golf operations on the terraces.
- Check tickets for entry and facilitate exiting direction to mini golf guests.
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests.
- Create a highly positive experience for guests conducive to repeat visitation, membership conversion, and excellent word of mouth for the center.
- Proactively and warmly welcome guests, respond to questions, and offer guidance.
- Resolve general complaints from guests and members on site.
- Learn and provide deep knowledge of general program and facility information for visitors.
- Helps maintain mini golf inventory of printed information and marketing materials, and ensures signage is properly placed.
- A willing attitude and positive demeanor are fundamental to the success in this position.
WHAT WE NEED IN YOU
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior customer service experience
- Must be available to work Wednesday-Sunday daytime and evenings
- Ability to problem solve in a quick and resourceful manner and take initiative
- Ability to handle a variety of operations simultaneously
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS This position is considered part-time, non-exempt. As a non-exempt position, it is eligible for overtime pay. The compensation for this role is $17.39 hourly.
