Associate Multimedia Producer

The Associate Multimedia Producer provides multimedia production and administrative support to the Content Producer by supporting the creation of media-rich content including, but not limited to, video, audio, interactive, and web-based content and projects; print and digital publishing projects; as well as by providing administrative support to all aspects of the Walker Art Center’s content creation endeavors across digital and physical media.


WHAT YOU GET TO DO 

 Multimedia, Content, and Publishing Production Support:

  • Supports the Content Producer in coordinating the production of all video, audio, multimedia, and post-production projects as well as photography, printing, and editorial projects for print and digital publishing, including magazines, exhibition catalogs, as well as across Walker Websites.
  • Supports Content Producer in managing and contracting freelance videographers, animators, illustrators, retouchers, UX developers, and other vendors.
  • Coordinates the publishing of video and content across online platforms, including Walker Websites, YouTube, Vimeo, and more.
  • Supports Content Producer in the scheduling of publishing projects.
  • Supports Content Producer in the publishing of web-based updates and other content.
  • Coordinates local distribution of publishing projects with approved vendors.
  • Supports the Content Producer in the production of in-person and virtual programming.
  • Maintains the Content and Publishing’s electronic and physical filing systems; maintains Content and Publishing contacts in Tessitura and other relevant databases.
  • Maintain the content and publishing calendar and internal communications about projects and shoots on behalf of the Content Producer.
  • Maintains archival process for all video, multimedia, and publishing projects.
  • Schedule all internal and cross-departmental content and publishing meetings; secure meeting spaces in all appropriate registration and tracking systems (Artifax), prepare and distribute required materials, and make any special arrangements.
  • Draft all departmental correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other requested communication.
  • Assist in managing Content and Publishing invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports, and maintain all necessary financial documents.
  • Keep an accurate and up-to-date inventory of video and multimedia equipment and resources.
  • Organizes, maintains, and communicates summary of content and publishing project information (description, schedule, budgets) 

WHAT WE NEED IN YOU 

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of video production experience at the professional level, including all elements of production from pre-production to distribution. Candidates with video experience in the art or non-profit fields are encouraged to apply.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software programs including, but not limited to, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience in online publishing platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo.
  • Experience with and proficiency in HTML and CMS coding. Experience with WordPress CMS systems is a plus.
  • Experience with print and editorial processes is a plus.
  • 2+ years administrative support experience; preferably 1+ years working for senior level managers.
  • 1+ years working in a standard office environment, having experience composing business correspondence, operating common office equipment, and using the full MS Office suite.
  • Must be proficient in and quick to learn computer and web technology, database and/or project managing applications preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with budgets and adhering to standard budgetary practices and fiscal controls.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization, prioritization, and time management.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with a wide range of constituents (artists, administrators, funders, donors, community partners, patrons, staff), and people across a variety of cultures, generations, and abilities.
  • Must show resourcefulness, ability to anticipate needs and adapt to unexpected challenges.
  • Experience working in the arts community and/or interest in contemporary art is a plus.
  • Must possess a commitment to fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, and access.
  • The position requires some night and weekend hours and availability.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS   

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk 
  • Prolonged periods of looking at computer or phone screens
  • Lifting and carrying equipment and materials between 50-60lbs

JOB SPECIFICATIONS This position is considered full-time (35 hours per week), exempt. As a exempt position, it is not eligible for overtime pay. The compensation range for this role is $50,000-55,000 annually. The Walker offers a wide range of benefits for both part-time and full-time employees.

This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
