FT Gallery Assisitant

In our over 125-year history, we have become one of the most celebrated art museums in the country and we are known for our innovative presentations and acclaimed collections of contemporary art across the spectrum of the visual, performing, and media arts.

This individual will provide all Walker visitors with an engaging and exemplary guest experience. This individual will support and lead daily operations of the Gallery Assistant team and work collaboratively to improve the quality of the customer experience.  

WHAT YOU GET TO DO 

  • Serve as a Gallery Assistant, ensuring the highest level of safety, service and hospitality for Walker visitors, providing important information.
  • Protect artworks, enforce visitor guidelines, and work to ensure all safety protocols are maintained.
  • Actively seek opportunities to learn about Walker programming and events.
  • Help ensure a welcoming, accessible, and audience-focused experience for a diverse population of visitors.
  • Create and support a culture of hospitality and meaningful visitor experiences.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS   

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS This position is considered full-time (35 hours per week),non-exempt. As a non-exempt position, it is eligible for overtime pay. The minimum compensation for this role is $16.97 hourly. The Walker offers a wide range of benefits for both part-time and full-time employees.

This position is covered by the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) labor contract.

This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
