Gallery Assistant

All visitor-facing teams share responsibility for greeting our visitors and providing assistance in ways that support extraordinary experiences and repeat visits.

The Walker seeks two (2) part-time, Gallery Assistants to monitor galleries and other public spaces, protecting the art work, while acknowledging visitors and staff in a friendly, polite manner.  Gallery Assistants check for admission tabs, provide information to visitors, enforce visitor guidelines and assure safety.

This work is contracted through a separate company, Common Sense Building Services (CSBS); these positions are co-employed with the Walker Art Center. While we have two (2) immediate openings, we are also seeking a pool of qualified candidates for periodic employment throughout the year.

Qualifications include high dependability, professional demeanor and a strong customer service orientation. Ability to work with a wide range of personalities and people across a variety of cultures and generations. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. An interest in Walker programming and events is preferred. Ability to pass a criminal background check is a condition of employment.

Hours & Compensation: 18-24 hours per week; $15/hour, non-exempt; Thursday through Sunday.
