The Walker Art Center empowers people to experience the transformative possibilities of the art and ideas of our time and to imagine the world in new ways. This individual will provide all Walker visitors with an engaging and exemplary guest experience during our Keith Haring: Art is for Everybody exhibition. This individual will support the daily operations of the Gallery Assistant team and work collaboratively to improve the quality of the customer experience

WHAT YOU GET TO DO 

• Serve as a Gallery Assistant, ensuring the highest level of safety, service, and hospitality for Walker visitors, providing important information.
• Protect artworks, enforce visitor guidelines, and work to ensure all safety protocols are maintained.
• Actively seek opportunities to learn about Keith Haring.
• Help ensure a welcoming, accessible, and audience-focused experience for a diverse population of visitors.
• Create and support a culture of hospitality and meaningful visitor experiences.

Minimum Requirements

• Professional demeanor and a strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to work with a wide range of personalities and people across many cultures and generations.

Preferred Skills

• An interest in Walker programming and events

PHYSICAL DEMANDS   

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS 

This position is considered part-time/temporary (Apr 3rd–Sep 8, 2024), non-exempt. As a non-exempt position, it is eligible for overtime pay. The compensation for this role is $ 16.97 hourly. The Walker offers a wide range of benefits for both part-time and full-time employees.

This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
