The Walker Art Center is seeking an entry-level Desktop Support Technician to join our information technology team. This position is responsible for monitoring, updating and completing helpdesk requests according to assigned priority. This role identifies, researches and resolves technical issues of minor to moderate complexity.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitor, update and complete helpdesk requests in timely and professional manner; serve as first point of contact for incoming emails, calls and tickets; maintain & support Windows, Macintosh, document scanning and print systems; troubleshoot software, hardware and network-related issues while keeping strong documentation of solutions and procedures; create user accounts and perform new user orientations

  • Image new Windows and Macintosh workstations; add workstations to management systems and work with end users to copy over data

  • Willingness and ability to proactively research and learn new technologies and identify or suggest possible improvements on procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Microsoft Certified, Apple Certified or A+ Certified is preferred or an Associate’s degree specifically within technology/computer science or 1 year of prior relevant professional experience, i.e. experience as a help desk technician or other technical-oriented customer support role

  • Able to support and maintain mobile devices and e-mail/calendar integration; network printers; proactively research and learn new technologies under guidance

  • Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively to support all user levels across all disciplines with strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong follow-through to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner

  • Willing to work nights and weekends if required and to respond to afterhours calls when scheduled

  • Must be able to carry up to 50lbs

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION:

  • Full-time, Exempt; up to $45,000/year, excellent benefits package, Walker membership and discounts, and the opportunity to work alongside talented individuals as well as support some remarkable artists, events, and programming.
