Control Guard

Minneapolis, MN

The Walker Art Center is seeking a dedicated and reliable Control Guard to help monitor the Walker's security, life safety and operational systems and to respond accordingly if an emergency or issue arises. The Control Center is open 24/7/365 and serves as the central communications hub for emergency radio and telephone communications. 

Responsibilities include monitoring automated security and life safety systems; working with security and building operation teams to work through and/or respond to situations; and providing incident and other reporting as needed. Control Guards back up, help support, and assist the Chief Guards, Assistant Security Manager & Security Manager in all facets of their job.

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE:

Full-time (35 hours/week); $17.00 per hour; availability to work days/evenings and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required;  non-exempt; excellent benefits package, Walker membership, museum discounts.

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL HAVE:      

1-2 years’ experience in security or monitoring situations required; excellent ability to relay information, provide facts and necessary details; skilled trouble-shooter and problem-solver.
