The Walker Art Center is seeking part-time Sales Associates to greet visitors, share our story, and help ensure extraordinary experiences and repeat visits. The Walker places the highest priority on establishing a warm and welcoming environment to all visitors.
Excellent customer service: greet, recommend merchandise, sell admissions, assess needs, listen/respond to, and close sales in a proficient and warm manner. Actively engage all customers and incoming callers – provide information and directions/navigation, as needed.
Restock and straighten stores, as necessary/when merchandise sells; straighten tables and shelves/keep displays and merchandise up to exceptional showroom standards.
While we do not have an immediate opening we are seeking a pool of qualified candidates throughout the year.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION:
Part-time (15-20 hours/week) with flexibility to work evenings and weekends required; $11.25 per hour, non-exempt; Walker membership, museum discounts, and the opportunity to work alongside talented individuals and support remarkable artists, events and programming.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills; cash register/handling experience is essential.
Strong appreciation or education within contemporary art, design, and/or product design is preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6+ hour shifts) and lift/push/pull up to 25lbs.
Must be detail-oriented, responsible and dependable.
